Day 1 – The Anniversary

January 1, 2017

This year I have decided to take part in the “Photo A Day” Challenge.  This is a challenge that I have seen other photographers do in the past and I have always thought to myself, “I should do that”…but then never did.  Well, this year is it.  I will finally do it…

Day 1
Today I have been married for 13 years.
To a wonderful man.
He’s so romantic.
He hand made 13 cards for me.
One for each year we have been married.
He attached them to some helium balloons.
They were floating above our bed when I walked in.
He’s a keeper alright.

As 2016 draws to a close, I reflect back on the past year.  I remember my lovely clients and my highs and lows.  One of the highs of this year was when I won two silver awards at the AIPP Australian Professional Photography Awards back in August.  This year I entered something completely different from what I normally do so I wasn’t sure how it would go.  I entered artwork I created from photos I took of flowers and trees.  This is a big departure for a portrait photographer!  I was happy to see that the judges enjoyed my work.  Here are the award-winning photos from this year:

AIPP, Australian, Professional, Photography, Awards, 2016, Melbourne, Family, Photographer, portrait, photo, picture, Victoria, Australia, award, Melbourne, Family, portrait, photo, picture, newborn, baby, child

AIPP, Australian, Professional, Photography, Awards, 2016, Melbourne, Family, Photographer, portrait, photo, picture, Victoria, Australia, award, Melbourne, Family, portrait, photo, picture, newborn, baby, child

This is how they were presented to the judges and with their awards:

I’m looking forward to 2017!  See you then!  Happy New Year everyone!
